Marcus Armitage

From the age of 12, Marcus has been ‘hooked’ on golf after having a go with his dad’s old golf club. Sadly, Marcus lost his mum aged 13 to cancer and all he wanted to do was play golf.

In 2004 he won the Lancashire Boys Championship before turning Pro in 2008.
In recent years, Marcus has played in many competitions around the world and in 2021 he became a Guinness World Records holder after breaking the record for the ‘farthest golf shot caught in a moving car’. Marcus’ ball went 303 yards into a BMW M8 Convertible by BMW tour car driver Paul O’Neill.

A month later, Marcus was victorious at the Porsche European Open as he overturned a four-stroke final round deficit. It was an emotional win for Marcus as he dedicated his victory to his late mum.
